CF Party Conference Workshop and Reception

  • Do you want to know how to convey your message more successfully in the print and broadcast media?
  • Are you keen to learn how to best exploit the new media?
  • Would you like to know how to destroy your opponents in elections and in debate?

On Saturday, 27 September 2008 Conservative Future is teaming up for the first time with the Young Britons’ Foundation to organise a half-day specialist training programme that will help you become the most effective advocate for conservatism you can be. Conservatives owe it to their philosophy to study how to win.

Featuring the likes of Iain Dale and Matthew Elliott, the CF Activist Training Workshop covers:

  • How to handle the print media effectively
  • The best ways to respond to vox pops
  • Handling negative information
  • The do’s and don’ts of the new media
  • 10 ways to destroy your opponents in debate
  • Winning elections before polling day

The £25 course fee (£10 for students in full-time education) includes:

  • Tuition fee and printed course materials
  • Access to the Freedom Exhibition featuring many of the leading conservative think-tanks and campaign groups
  • Tea, coffee, water and refreshments
  • Entry into the FREE evening drinks reception with MPs, MEPs and PPCs
  • Debrief on Sunday morning, with a review of the papers, Bloody Marys and bacon butties!

To reserve your places on the CF Party Conference Training Workshop, please email info@ybf.org.uk or apply online by download this form. You can also pay online here.

Your place is not confirmed until payment of the workshop fee is made. Cheques should be made payable to “Young Britons’ Foundation” and then posted to YBF, 50 Churchill Square, Kings Hill, West Malling, Kent ME19 4YU.

Please note – places are limited to 100 activists.

This event will be held within the security zone of the ICC – you must have a Party Conference pass to attend.

Politics is a bug. Once you catch the bug, it is rare a cure can be found. Even repeated electoral disasters cannot cure you of the disease (Ted Heath kept losing general elections but he was convinced he could have won in the late 1970s).
There will be times when you will wish you attended an [...]

Sunday 4th October from 12 noon – Don’t miss out on CF and YBF’s official half day conference!
Following the success of the training day in Birmingham last year, Young Britons’ Foundation and Conservative Future  will be teaming up to hold a half day conference just for Conservative Future members. This will take place on the [...]

  • Week Eleven: Know Your Enemy

In today’s hectic multimedia age, it is easy only to spend time reading blogs, websites or newspapers with whom you are in agreement. That is a very dangerous course for the conservative activist to take. It is imperative to be as well read as possible – not just so that you know what your opponents [...]

  • Week Thirteen: Ask Questions

One of the wisest pieces of advice I have heard handed out to students comes from Patrick Coyle, the Vice-President of the Young America’s Foundation. Pat reminds student activists that while it is all well and good having views as to who should be the Republican Party’s nominee or what the basic rate of income [...]
