Further to yesterday’s announcement of YBF’s new Grand Committee, here are the details of how you can start earning points towards free training and trips to the United States.

500 points will earn you a free place at YBF6 – the leading political training conference in the UK.

750 points will earn you a place at the annual exclusive private dinner for YBF’s leading parliamentary supporters and advisors.

1,000 points will enter you into the draw to earn a free place on YBF’s Summer Conference Programme in the USA worth £1,500 (terms and conditions apply).

Here’s how you can get to 1,000 points…

Training

Organising a YBF training workshop on your campus – 100 points per workshop (10 extra points for each student attending over the minimum number of 12 students)

Speakers Panel

Organising a YBF Speakers Panel event – 100 points per event. (50 extra points for each pre-event or post-event article printed in a local or campus newspaper; 50 extra points if over 60 students attend; 100 extra points if over 100 students attend; 100 extra points if any speaker travel/accommodation costs are covered)

Conferences & Events

Attending YBF6 – 100 points

Attending the YBF Summer Conference Programme – 50 points

Attending CPAC – 50 points

Attending YBF’s Christmas, Summer or Party Conference Receptions – 25 points each

Campaigning

Recruiting 100 new members at a recruitment stall – 100 points

Recruiting 200 or more new members at a recruitment stall – 250 points

Participation in the YBF EU Awareness campaign – 100 points

Participation in the YBF Support our Troops campaign – 100 points

Fundraising

Raising £500 or more in non-subscription income through events, sponsorship or personal solicitation – 100 points

Raising £1,000 or more as above – 250 points

Raising £2,500 or more as above – 500 points

Furthermore, points will be awarded for ‘one off’ innovative activism, such as the establishment of a new blog or the launching of your own campus campaign. 

YBF has eyes and ears at most campuses, but you are encouraged to report your own successes. If you, or someone in your club or society has achieved one or more of the above criteria, get in touch so that YBF can recognise the achievement.

All decisions as to points awarded or not awarded to any student are final. Points are awarded to the appropriate branch, area or regional chairman unless a specific individual is recognised. Neither YBF, its directors, staff or supporters shall be in any way liable to any person for any reason in the event that points are or are not awarded. Students wishing to claim points should provide independent evidence of activity to Christian May, YBF Director of Operations by email at christian@ybf.org.uk. Further details will be announced over the coming weeks. Past activity undertaken since 1 July 2008 is eligible for consideration.
