At YBF, we give political and campaign skills training to committed young conservative activists. Most of the training is based around how to be an effective communicator or how to motivate volunteers. But we also touch on the darker side of politics (it’s a necessity these days, even for younger activists) and our advice is always: stay well away from it.
We discourage people from getting involved in personal attacks, and we give advice on what to do if you find yourself embroiled in a dispute. However, our overall tip for dealing with this sort of scenario is: he who slings mud, gets dirty. Or as Norman Tebbit so eloquently put it, “if you sleep with dogs, you’re going to get flees.”
