Interactiv-ist Wednesday

August 26th, 2009

Wednesdays huntitledere at the YBF are going to be the day to get involved. Each week something different for you to do, either on your campus, in your halls, at home, or simply infront of your laptop in the library.

This week the YBF has been looking through all the internet petitions approved by the 10 Downing Street website finding the best and most politically ’sound’ ones for you as activists to sign up for.

At the moment you can’t create new online petitions whilst the Prime Minister is away from Number 10, but he is back on the 7th of September so we will show you how to create an E-petition once he is back!

Here are a few petitions to sign up for -

  • “We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to re-establish free speech by abolishing political correctness thereby allowing the Citizens of Great Britain to say what they think no matter who could be offended.”

As is says under the petition title, nobody should be punished for speaking their mind, whether acting as an individual or as a corporation. CLICK HERE to sign up for this petition.

  • The most popular petition on the 10 Downing Street website at the moment, “We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to resign.”

If you want to join the other 70, 235 signatures (at the point this was posted. The number of signatures keeps rising!) CLICK HERE now.

  • “We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to rename the stretch of road (B3102) between RAF Lyneham and Wootton Basset, HIGHWAY OF HEROES.”

Join with the other 8,307 signatures and sign the petition to honour ALL those of our Military who have given their lives in the service of their Country. Other countries such as the USA do this so well, why can’t the UK? CLICK HERE now.

I would encourage everyone to go through the petitions on the 10 Downing Street website and sign up to the ones you believe in. Whether its the erosion of civil liberties through too many CCTV cameras, or allowing British police officers to wear the Union Jack, maybe even the banning of all use of text language?! Make your voice heard and sign up and tell the PM something needs changing. We do live in a democracy after all.
